Kleta Mae (King) Thacker passed away June 7th, 2022, in Prescott Valley, AZ, where she had been a resident for the past 20 years. She was born September 16, 1930 in Whitley County, Ky to a family which consisted of ten children. She lived most of her life in LaFollette, TN, where she was a pastor’s wife for many years and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Church life was always of prime importance to her, where she was an accomplished singer, as well as Sunday school teacher, play and activity organizer and mentor. She loved to travel, fish, and take care of her family and home. She had a great sense of humor and loved to make others laugh. She was preceded in death by her best friend and husband of 47 years, JL Thacker, her precious son, Jimmy Thacker, Jr., parents, Elsie and Tom King and five brothers. She is survived by her loving daughter, Debra Thacker; grandchildren: Jimmy Thacker, Angie Kirkland and Carol Chea, and great grandchildren: Laura and Nathan Key and Taylor Kirkland; Sisters: Betty Fore and Naomi Wallace and Brothers: Bill and Ancil King. She is also survived by her cherished daughter in law, Sandra Thacker and her great friend and confidante, Gayle Cross. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 9th at 10 am at her church of 16 years, Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 7440 E Addis Ave, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314. Pastor Dennis Sullivan will be officiating.
