Kimberly Jane Elder of Jerome, Arizona, died October 15, 2021. She was 45 years old.Kim was born in Plainview, Texas, on August 10, 1976, to Tony and Fran Gabel. She is survived by her parents of Logan, New Mexico, and her two beloved daughters Megan Parrish and her husband, Taylor, of Carson City, Nevada, and Hannah Elder of Fort Worth, Texas. Other survivors include two sisters, Roxanne Erramouspe of Corona, New Mexico, and Toni Williams and her husband, Patrick, of Lubbock, Texas; one brother, brother Jad Gabel and his wife, Jeanne, of Canyon, Texas; four nieces and two nephews; a great-niece and nephew; and many dear friends. 

Kim graduated from Tatum High School in 1994 and attended College of the Southwest in Hobbs, New Mexico, then earned her Bachelors of Education Degree from Eastern New Mexico University in 1999.  Kim taught elementary school in Tucumcari, New Mexico, and Mineral Wells, Texas. 

At the time of her death, Kim was the Care Coordinator for the Area Agency on Aging for the state of Arizona. She lived in Weatherford, Texas, for many years. While there, she had several different jobs, but her favorite was the Parker and Palo Pinto Counties Sheriff’s Department evidence room coordinator. Kim was a master at organizing and was a meticulous, detail-oriented person, and she thrived in this career. She traveled across the country learning about this field. Additionally, she earned her Texas real estate license in 2018. 

Kim loved all things colorful and beautiful, which included flowers. One of her favorite things to do was care for flowers in her yard and the community garden in Arizona. Kim took great pride in the beauty of her yard and plants in her home. Kim was bright, kind, sweet, and beautiful. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. at the Center Street United Methodist Church in Tucumcari, New Mexico. The family will greet friends and family following the service in the church fellowship hall. In place of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
