Keith L. Russel

Keith L. Russell, died August 22, 2012 at Yavapai Regional Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born November 15, 1940 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado; the son of LeRoi and Clara (Kjonaas). Keith was 71 years old. Keith arrived in Prescott as a baby in his mother’s arms at the age of two. He grew up in Prescott and graduated from Prescott High School in 1958. He proudly served his country as a member of the 101st Airborne, United States Army, “The Screaming Eagles”. He was a part of the unit that made a jump for JFK. He married the love of his life Peggy on November 24, 1973; they always called each other Doda. He retired from AT&T and developed a back hoe business. He loved being outdoors, especially on his dirt bike leading the family over all of the Bradshaw’s back roads to abandon mines, among the pine trees. He continued to sky dive and loved to drive his ATV. He was a good story teller - a good TALL story teller. Keith is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy; daughters Debbie Dinkens of Germanton, N.C., Susan (Craig) Wolfe of Statesville, N.C.; sister Toni (Duane) Heatwole of Page, Arizona; grandsons Tracy, Zack, Jason and Cody and granddaughter Sierra; and 2 great-grandchildren.
