Karl ?Mike? Snyder died May 17, 2009 in Prescott, Arizona ; after a long and couragous battle with cancer. He was born March 28, 1931in Battle Creek, MI; the son of Kenneth and Pauline (Hynes) Snyder. Mike was 78 years young. Mike was a proud Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict who served as a radio man on P2V Neptunes. He was a life time member of both the VFW of Prescott and American Legion Post # 6. Mike retired from the FAA, where he was a air traffic control specialist. Mike was always young at heart and active in the communities where he lived. He was a Past Master of Salinas, CA Masonic Lodge #204, 1975 and the Exalted Ruler of BPOE Lodge #330 of Prescott in 1990-1991. He was an accomplished Bag Piper and after his retirement enjoyed attending the Southwest Institue of Healing Arts in Phoenix with other young people Mike was fourth of five children and is survived by brothers: John W. (Barbara), Judge Harry (Rose Mary) and sister. Patricia (Charles) Herro; many loving nieces, nephews and friends; especially Carol Speight and Gerri Stock. Mike was preceded in death by his brother, Peter, in 1975. A Gathering of Friends and Mason Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 23rd at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home 303 S. Cortez, with Rt. Rev. Dr. Dennis Massey, presiding. A Gathering of Remembrance and Elk Service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 24th, at Prescott Elk Lodge #330, 5245 E. Hwy 69, Prescott Valley, Arizona, Past Exuled Ruler, John Wright, presiding with military honors by American Legion Post # 6.
