Karen Elizabeth Baxter

We celebrate and remember the life of Karen Elizabeth Baxter of Prescott, Arizona. She passed away on August 8, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Karen was born on May 31, 1957 in Los Angeles, California. She grew up in Phoenix and then moved to Bisbee where her husband managed the local airport. She graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.S. degree in business administration, majoring in finance. In 1985, Karen and her family moved to Prescott where she began her career as a securities broker with A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. As a securities broker, Karen had many successes, including a recent opening of her own securities firm with Wedbush in 2010. Karen cared deeply about her clients and became personal friends with many of them. Karen loved Prescott and will be remembered for her extensive contributions to the local community. She has served with many organizations and charities. She was a past president of Prescott Fine Arts, a board member of Sharlot Hall Museum and Habitat for Humanity, a member of PEO Chapter CD, Soroptomists, and Rotary. Karen was the coordinator of the hospitality room for the Prescott Indian Art Market for the last 15 years. She spent a portion of every meeting with her clients showing photos of her grandchildren and telling stories of their recent happenings. She touched the lives of thousands through her compassionate business style and her devotion to her family and community. Her bubbly personality and beautiful smile will be missed. Karen is survived by her loving husband, Pete; her brothers Michael and Mark; her sister, Melinda; her three sons, Pete, Justin and Christopher; their wives, Denee, Jesse and Stephanie; five wonderful grandchildren, Addison Rose, Knighton, Cooper, Ethan and MaKena; her nephews, Joseph, Jon, Michael, and Mark; her nieces, Kelly and Mary; and friends too numerous to mention within the Prescott community. “DEATH LEAVES A HEARTACHE NO ONE CAN HEAL, LOVE LEAVES US A MEMORY NO ONE CAN STEAL” - - Anonymous Irish Headstone
