Joseph Quinlan

Joseph, beloved husband of Ruth V. Beck Quinlan, was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 10, 1919 and passed away on October 22, 2010 in Prescott, AZ. Joe and his wife, Ruth, were married on November 28, 1942 at Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi. A loving husband and father, Joe is survived by Ruth, his five daughters, Jody (Len) Abrahamson, Pat (Tom) Gentner, Ginny (Carl) Paternite, Peggy (Robin) Boyd, and Terry (Rich) Thickens, and his three sons, Steve (Melanie) Quinlan, Frank (Linda) Quinlan, and Rob (Marsha) Quinlan. Joe is also survived by his 21 grandchildren and 30 great- grandchildren.
Joe served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII in Burma as a pilot who flew the hump. He earned the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal, and Chinese Medal. He attended the Art Students League in NY City. Painting was his life-long passion.
Joe retired from the Hartford Insurance Company in 1980 after 25 years of service. After retirement, Joe and Ruth enjoyed extensive travels, highlighted by a visit to his ancestral home, Ireland.
A private family memorial service in Joes honor will be held on October 29, 2010 at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home. Joe is remembered by his family for his wit and sense of humor. Igdobble!
