Joseph Anthony Rubino, 71, of Prescott Valley, Arizona lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, February 15, 2011.
Joe was born May 2, 1939, in Trenton, New Jersey. He loved music, and played saxophone in a band called the Rhythmics that was quite successful for several years. He served in the Marine Reserve and returned to New Jersey to work as the Chief Clerk for the Mercer County Courthouse Prosecutors office. In 1977, he relocated to Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where he secured a position as a Drivers License Examiner. After retirement, Joe moved to Prescott Valley, Arizona. To keep busy, he worked at the 99 Cent Store, Liberty Kia, and Shuttle-U. Joe loved music, old movies, travel, and video poker. He was most proud of his role as a father, and he raised two happy, successful children on his own.
He is survived by his companion Shirley Yule, Prescott Valley, Arizona; daughter Toni Ricigliano, Galveston, Texas; daughter Lori Rubino-Hare and Trent Hare, Flagstaff, Arizona; son, Richard Rubino, Chandler, Arizona; mother, Mary C. Rubino, 96, Trenton, New Jersey; sister, Ann Provenzano, Yardley, Pennsylvania; brother, John A. Rubino, Junior, Trenton, New Jersey; and sister, Lucille Reading, New Port Richey, Florida. He was predeceased by his father, John A. Rubino, Senior.
I think of my life as vintage wine, from fine old kegs from the brim to the dregs; and it poured sweet and clear; it was a very good year; it was a mess of good years. Frank Sinatra
