John Salgado, 78, died Thursday evening, July 13, 2006 at Hospice of the Valley in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was born May 17, 1928 in San Bernardino, California; the son of Asciscalo and Sadie (Jaramillo) Salgado. John served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was decorated for his heroics. John met and fell in love with Roberta L. Mavity and married on June 28, 1969 and shared 37 loving years together. John and Bobbie moved to Prescott Valley from Indiana in 1994, and then had a home built. John spent many hours tending to his roses and garden. John was a jokester who loved to make people smile and laugh and continued to do so right to the end. John was a member of the Telephone Pioneer?s Club of America and the Lions Club in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He enjoyed woodworking and ?Projects? around the house and his ?honey do?s?. John was proud of the furniture he made by hand and his family whom he dearly loved. John is survived by Bobbie his loving and caring wife of Prescott Valley, children and son-in-law; Tammy J. Pope of San Bernardino, CA, Shelley D. and Larry Taylor of Temecula, CA, Cynthia L. Hoppe of Yucaipa, CA, brother A. Frank Salgado of CA, sisters and brothers-in-law; Livania and Cliff Caldwell of CA, Suzanne and Dub Clark of Duncan, OK and Harold Means of Ardmore, OK. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Jesse, Christopher, Rachael and Joshua and great granddaughter; Madison. John was preceded in death by his daughter; Jennifer V. Perryman, brother; Raymond Carballo and sister; Caroline Means as well as his parents. A celebration of John?s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Arizona Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel, corner of Navajo and East Valley Roads in Prescott Valley. A private cremation will take place following the service at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley.
