John Franklin Ross, Jr. passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, at the age of 79 in Prescott, AZ. A man of many passions and unwavering dedication, John lived a life marked by service, curiosity, and appreciation for the finer things.
Born on May 16, 1945, John spent his youth and early adulthood working in his family’s business at the historic Murray Hotel on Mackinac Island. Those formative years instilled in him a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for history and tradition.
John proudly served his country as a United States Marine, carrying the values of honor and discipline with him throughout his life. After his military service, he pursued higher education, earning his degrees from Oakland University and The Detroit College of Law. He found great joy in shopping and discovering unique treasures, always eager to share the stories behind them.
Above all, John cherished his family. He leaves behind his three nieces, Jennifer Lassi (Magnus), Katheryn Richter, and Sarah Shaw; his six great-nieces and nephew, Kyra Richter, Karoline Richter, Kassandra Richter, Ryan Coombe, Jacquelyn Shaw, and Hope Lassi; and his beloved dog, Charlie.
