John Joseph Connolly

John Joseph Connolly, known by friends and family as Jack, residing at Evergreen Village of
Prescott, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023 at 85 years old. He was grateful to the
caring staff at Evergreen.
Jack was born on January 21, 1938, in Brockton, Massachusetts, to Joseph Edward and
Kathryn Margaret (O'Brien) Connolly. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his sister,
Shirley Ann, wife of Glenn Weitkum, of San Luis Obispo, California.
After graduating high school, Jack enlisted in the United States Army and served his time in
Alaska. While there, he earned a Sharpshooter badge and enjoyed good fishing in his spare
time. Jack went on to attend St. Mary's College, in Winona, Minnesota, where he graduated with
a degree in English.
While in college, lucky Jack met his wife, Jean Ann Hanlon, at a St. Patrick's Day party and they
were married on July 22, 1972. With more good luck, Jack and Jean Ann had a son, Timothy
Byron Connolly.
Jack's professional career was within the title business, in California, and then in Arizona. Jack
happily worked part-time after retirement at Edward Jones Investments, in Prescott, Arizona.
Jack enjoyed golfing, volunteering at Sacred Heart, traveling with his wife, reading, and
spending time with family and friends.
Jack is survived by his wife, Jean Ann, son Tim, daughter-in-law Mia, granddaughters Sierra
and McKenna, and great-granddaughter McKinsley.
Services will be held at Sacred Heart Church on July 29th, with a Rosary at 1:00 and Mass at
1:30. The interment will be held at 2:00 on August 11th, at the Prescott Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul, or a favorite charity.
