Gerald R. (Jerry) Mongini, 60,passed on to renewed health in eternal life Thursday, May 17th, 2007, following an extended illness. Jerry was born December 9, 1946, the son of Adolph and Sally Mongini, and was raised on the UVX Dairy in Cottonwood with his sister Bobbie, brother Joe, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jerry had battled multiple sclerosis since 1985 and leukemia since 2002. From his wheelchair, Jerry played the hands that were dealt him with honor, dignity and always maintained a smile on his face. He could have given up many years ago, but Jerry was a fighter. Jerry enjoyed his annual trip to Laughlin, where he shared special times with his sister and brother-in-law playing black jack and harassing the dealers. Jerry is survived by his brother Joe Mongini (Merry) and family, of Cottonwood, his sister Bobbie Peterson (Bill) of Prescott. Jerry is also survived by and always had a twinkle in his eye when grand nieces, Kelsi-Ann and Jordyn Woodburn, daughters of Jodi and John Woodburn of Dunkin, New Mexico rode behind him on his wheelchair to give him directions to Nona?s
