Jens Catlin passed away peacefully in Prescott, Ariz. on April 17, 2013. He was born Oct. 9, 1934, and retired in Prescott. He was born in Rome, N.Y., and grew up in Cooperstown, N.Y. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict and settled on the west coast with his wife, Helen. He is survived by his wife, Helen; three daughters, Jill Catlin and her partner Liz Negri, Jennifer Alanis and husband Paul Alanis; grandchildren Tyler Alanis, Jakob Alanis and Aiden Alanis, and Jodi Dougherty and husband Harry Dougherty. In retirement Jens opened his second store 'Would You Believe?' in Prescott Hometown Variety Store. He sold costumes and magic. Jens was a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, including the Prescott Valley Ring, and a member of the Magic Castle in Hollywood, Calif. Jens enjoyed bingo at the Prescott Senior Center in addition to playing with his awesome grandsons.
