Jeff was born to Donna (Barta) and Raymond Brabec in Schuyler, Nebraska. He is preceded in death by his twin brother Joseph, sister and brother Patricia and Patrick, Mother Donna, Father Raymond, grandparents Mary (Sedlacek) Lumir Barta, Ruth (Shocker) and Stanley Brabec.
He is survived by his wife Sheila; siblings Keith (Pam) Brabec, Dan (Esther) Brabec, Pam (Randy) Sundby, Jim Brabec, Rebecca Van de Hei, Roxanne (Mark) Berdahl. Son Jeffrey Brabec, stepdaughter Jamie Aurentz, and grandchildren Brandon and Jordan Corpuz. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Jeff graduated Clarkson High School in 1980 and attended the University of Nebraska before joining the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Rapid City and King Salmon, Alaska. Upon leaving the military he went back to his love of ranching and worked in western Nebraska for several years.
Jeff returned to Alaska working for the N.A.N.A Corporation as a Director and Project Manager in their hospitality division. Jeff finished getting his B.A. while working full time.
He met the love of his life Sheila in Alaska and they married on Feb. 02, 2002. They continued to live in Alaska where they built their life together, retiring to Prescott in 2017.
With Sheila’s inspiration and Jeff’s talented hands they created an amazing home on a crest overlooking Chino Valley, but Jeff wasn’t cut out for full retirement and put his handyman expertise to its full use by working for A2Z hardware.
He was known for his many skills, dry sense of humor and no-nonsense attitude. Jeff had a passion for fishing and enjoyed hunting.
We all knew that the world was a better place with Jeff in it, may he rest in peace.
