Jeanne Beatrice Franklin, died March 24, 2006 at her home in Prescott, Arizona. She was born August 22, 1924 in Baldwin, New York; the daughter of Louis Harry and Josepine Beatrice (Reid) Franklin. Jeanne was 81 years old. Jeanne graduated from Baldwin High School in 1942 and graduated form the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, New York. Jeanne was a gifted soprano soloist with a great love of all music, particulary opera. She sang with the Nuremburg Opera House in Germany and for the Saure's Requirem under the baton of Nadia Boulanger. In the late 1940's and early 1950's Jeanne taught at Northern Arizona University, in Flagstaff, Arizona; starting the Opera Department. She spent 30 years teaching and directing music in schools on Long Island, New York. Jeanne retired to Arizona 22 years ago. Jeanne is survived by her brothers; Robert of Sebring, Florida and Girard of New York City, New York and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her brother, Louis. She was beloved by all.
