Janice's Eulogy:
Welcome family…This will be a day of mourning but celebration to my mom’s wonderful life through memories shared by us all, and the blessing knowing mom (grandma or Jan) is with the man she loved so dearly all her life, my father, somewhere in heaven and enjoying cocktail hour with loved ones who have passed. Let’s begin with a moment of prayer:Dear Lord in heaven…please embrace my mom in your loving arms this day as she might be lost and fragile, and needing the comfort of your wisdom and direction. Bring her peace since these last 5 years have been difficult for her, and guide her to dad to remain by his side for eternity in the Kingdom of Heaven. We will be comforted knowing she is with you and her loved ones. Please bless us all. Amen.Eulogy…To begin, I’d like to read a poem I kept for this day:“The moment that you passed away, my heart was town in two. One side filled with heartache, the other died with you. I often lie awake at night when the world is fast asleep, and take a walk down memory lane with tears upon my cheek. Remembering you is easy mom, I do it every day, but missing you is heartache, that doesn’t go away. I’m holding you so very close in my heart, not only today but every day!”My beautiful, loving, caring, mom was always an inspiration to me as a young girl, a confused teenager, a wife & mother to her grandchildren, and always a friend up until the end. I adored her and enjoyed being with her, she was so full of life and happiness. There was hardly a day when she was down, and seemed to see life in such positive ways. I know dad always said mom was the glue that kept the family close. She loved living and her family was most important to her. She embraced life with such gusto…being a ballroom dancer and “Jitterbug” champion in her early years, a party organizer with such finesse, she loved bowling with her friends, traveling side-by-side with dad worldwide, movies on date-nights (which were always Weds) and shopping with her daughters. She was unselfish in love and donated her time and energy in volunteer work with the hospital and veteran’s organizations. I will miss you mom and remember you all the rest of my days.   This is not just good-bye or a passing but a chance to live again with dad, and know someday we will all be together again. Here is a poem that Mom kept and I found written in her own handwriting. It was meaningful to her and I think appropriate to share:“Life is but a stopping placea pause in what’s to be,A resting place along the roadTo sweet eternity. We all have different journeys,          Different paths along the way,We all were meant to learn somethings,          But never meant to stay…Our destination is a place          Far greater than we know. For some, the journey’s quicker,          For some the journey’s slow. And when the journey finally ends,We’ll claim a great rewardAnd find an everlasting peace,Together with the Lord.                             Paula A Brown 7/21/17
