Janet Mary Opean, born to Ursula and D’Lee Dutra, in Vintondale, Pennsylvania, in 1937, departed peacefully into God’s presence from her home in Prescott, Arizona, on July 10, 2020. Her daughter Elizabeth was by her side.
Janet was preceded in death by her eldest son Brian, and her husband of 60 years, Michael Opean.
Janet is survived by their son Gregory, his wife Jennifer, daughters Amelia and Elizabeth, and grandchildren Hannah, Grace, Aria, and Caedmon.
Janet studied nursing at the University of Pennsylvania where she earned a registered nursing (RN) license. She played Varsity Basketball in High School, and later was the Women’s “AAA” Tennis Champion of Conejo Valley, Ca.
Janet will be remembered for her faith, faithfulness, and practical love for her family and friends. She will also be remembered for her signature laughter, which she was known for throughout her entire life.
Everyone who knew Janet would agree that she was quite a “character,” and never held back her opinion.
We miss you Mom, Grandma-O, Grammy-Peen. Thank you for all that you imparted to us and did for us. Rest in peace, until we meet again on that Great Day.
