Jane Chivvis Moore, 94, died Oct 13th, 2010 at Marley House in Prescott, AZ. She was born in St. Louis, MO on October 7, 1916 to Anne Cushing and Norman Chivvis. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Grant Moore, who died in 2000. They were married in 1939 in St. Louis.
She is survived by her four children, William Grant Moore, Anne Chivvis Moore, Brian Norman Moore, and John Kevin Moore. Grandchildren are Monique Moore, Will Moore, and Kevin Moore.
Mrs. Moore graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 1938 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and received a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Manhattanville College in 1966 after her children were grown. She taught at Scarsdale Junior High School in Scarsdale, New York from 1966 to 1982.
The Moore family lived in St. Louis, Missouri; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; So Paulo, Brazil; Birmingham, Michigan; Rye, New York; and White Plains, New York before retiring to Prescott in 1982.
She was a member of St. Lukes Episcopal Church where she served twice on the vestry.
