James Wayne Brooks

Mr. James Wayne Brooks passed on September 26, 2012 at the age of 47 years old, at his residence in Chino Valley, AZ. He is the son of James Harley Brooks of GA and Helen “Mickey” (Gorman) Brooks of GA/AZ. Wayne was born in Duluth, GA on October 15, 1964. Wayne has lived in Georgia, Dover, Arkansas, Phoenix, AZ, and for the last 17 years has called the Chino Valley area home, where he raised his son, Dylan. Wayne was a loving caring individual and while in the Chino Valley area, he made many friends. He always had kind words and a smile on his face making every greeting a memorable one. Wayne always loved cowboys. Horses where another story, he admired them from a distance. He did enjoy the horse power from riding his motorcycle and being on the open road. Dylan was the pride and joy of Wayne’s life. Wayne was a very “hands-on” father, spending many hours at Dylan’s sports events. Wayne wanted to make sure Dylan was raised to be a strong caring and responsible man. Wayne was successful, Dylan, you made your dad proud. Wayne worked many trades in the construction field. Wayne was employed by both the Applebee Construction Co and Central Basin Roofing. Wayne served as the lead man on several major projects. He loved to talk about his accomplishments in his job. He would do this by pointing out his finished projects and workmanship while driving around the valley. Wayne was retired due to health issues. He is preceded in death by his father James H. Brooks of GA, his paternal grandparents Harley and Alma Brooks of GA, his maternal grandparents Jack Gorman Sr. of GA and Gladys Audrey (Pruitt) Clure of GA/AZ. His maternal (step) grandfather DC Clure of GA/AZ. He is survived by his son- Dylan Wayne Brooks of Chino Valley. His mother- Helen (Mickey) and James Wilkinson of AZ. His (step) father- Floyd Dollar Sr. of TX. His brothers and sisters-Wanda Brooks of AZ, Sherrie (Darrel) Smith of AZ; Eddie Dollar of TX; Kenneth Dollar of AZ; and Mark Dollar of AZ. Rhonda (Richardson)Brooks of OK; children of Rhonda and the half-siblings of Dylan- Billy Richardson of NC: and Jenny (Richardson) Wikel of OK. 3 Aunts and 4 Uncles- Betty (Brooks) Cline of GA; Patsy Hamm of AZ; Darlene (Bob) Benz of CO; Jack (Sue) Gorman of AZ, George Gorman of GA, Don Clure of AZ, Joe (Annette) Clure of AZ. One Great Uncle- Frank (Doris) Pruitt of GA. Six grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. And special long time friends- Sherry Hodges of AZ and Carol Dittbrenner of AZ. Wayne was so loved by his Sisters and Brothers, that that they carried on his name (Wayne) in the names of their children. And to the names of two great nephews.
