James Franklin Griffiths, 82, of Prescott, AZ went to be with the Lord on March 18, 2014. He was born January 5, 1932. He was preceded in death by his father George Griffiths and mother Margaret Shrieve Griffiths Bostic. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Frances; daughters Debbie (Roy) Shears and Barbara (Jerry) Dallum; son James A. Griffiths; grandchildren Lorie West, Paul (Kelly) Kellerman, Amy (Kevin) Applegate, and Ruby Bedderton; and great-grandchildren Jason, Domanic, Madison, Logan, Taylor, Matthew, and Chloe. Jim was born in St. Clairsville, OH, where he graduated from high school in 1949. After a year of college, he went to work for the Hudson Motor Company. Jim served in the Army National Guard Reserves from 1951 – 1955. When he was 18, he met the love of his life, Frances. They married in 1953 and were married for 60 wonderful years. They moved to Burbank, CA in 1954, where he started to work for the Andrew Jergens Company as a lead mechanic on the assembly line. In 1959, they moved with their two small children (Debbie & Barbara) to Sylmar, CA. One year later they had their 3rd child, James Allen. In 1994, Jim retired from Andrew Jergens after 39 years. He then worked for a short time in his best friend’s hang gliding business. In 1998, James and Fran moved to Prescott, AZ where they enjoyed living for the last 16 years of his life. He was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church during this time. Jim enjoyed bowling, trap shooting, gardening, camping, fishing, hang gliding, and traveling. He loved his family and would do anything for them, including helping to raise his granddaughter. Jim touched the lives of all who met him, and he will be missed dearly.
