James Elliott Kennedy

James Elliot Kennedy was the fourth son born to Oscar Carl and Helen Frances Kennedy. Jim served honorably in the United States Marine Corp, worked in the US Forest Service in forest management and fire fighter/Hot Shot capacity. Jim also spent time as a wrangler in a few stables in the Prescott area. Jim had a good ear for music, listening and playing brought him a lot of joy throughout his life. Often known as a wild and free spirit, Jim also was deeply proud of his family and his roots. Jim was blessed with a rare birthday treat in 1988 when a great niece Kari was born on his birthday. He loved sharing his birthday with her these last 25 years and again was blessed when a great-great-nephew Braxton was born on the same day in 2012. He was preceded in death by both his parents Oscar Carl and Helen Kennedy, and his beloved sister in law Sharon Kennedy. He is survived by brothers John (Debbie), Carl, and Larry (Faye) Kennedy; ten nieces and nephews; and many more extended family. His quick wit and one liners were enjoyed by all through his very last day.
