James ?Gus? Guscott died September 28, 2005 in Prescott, Arizona. He was born December 29, 1960 in Fargo, North Dakota; the son of Gilbert and Barbara (Linton) Guscott. Jim was 44 years old. Jim was diagnosed a week after graduating from the University of Mass. at Amherst with an inoperable brain tumor. He learned to live within the limitations the tumor created. He maintained a passion and zeal for baseball working in the front office for the minor league farm teams of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds, Minnesota, Twins, and ending his career with the Albuquerque Dukes, the AAA farm team of L.A. Dodgers in 2001, as Director of Sales. Jim moved to Prescott to be with his parents in 2001 when the tumor starting taking away his memory; but he continued to work at Safeway helping any way he could to until February of this year. Jim is survived by his parents Gil and Barb Guscott of Prescott; brothers Chuck (Sherri) of Quartz Hill, CA, Michael (Pam) of West Chester, PA: sisters Elizabeth (Nick) Trevisick of Brentwood, IN and Nancy Frost of Durham, NC and 2 nieces and 4 nephews. A Celebration of Jim?s life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 15, 2005 at Prescott United Methodist Church, 505 W. Gurley. Inurnment will be in the church?s columbarium. The family suggests memorials in Jim?s name to YRMC Hospice, Restricted Fund, P.O. box 26565, Prescott Valley, AZ.
