Jackie Lea O'Leary

Jackie Lea (Carlsen) O'Leary, 78, passed away October 3, 2013 at her home with her family by her side. Jackie was born June 6, 1935 to Olav and Almeda (Middleton) Carlsen in Newark NJ. Jackie is survived by her children: her son Randall W. (Tammy) O'Leary of Prescott Valley, AZ, and her daughter Elisa (Frank) Abbott of Prescott, AZ; step-daughters Patricia (Frank) Calvert of Pasadena MD, Cindy Melocik of VA, Christine (Gorm) Lauritzen of MD; grandchildren Robert, Matthew, and Victoria Abbott; Craig, Jeff, and Christopher Calvert; Andrea and Julia Melocik; Nina Lauritzen; Samantha, Heather and Stephanie Tardiff; great-granddaughters Dahlia Abbott and Devlynn Simmons; great-grandson Zander Merchant; brother Carl Carlsen; and numerous nieces and nephews. All will miss her dearly. Jackie was a kind, generous soul and she never met a stranger. She was passionate about politics and loved to knit beautiful afghans for her family. She was a bookkeeper for numerous industries throughout her life. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carroll in 2000, sister Denise, and nieces Carla and Almeda.
