Jack Edwin Baker was born in Marion, Ohio on April 30, 1929 and passed away April 22, 2020 in Prescott, AZ. He was the first of two sons born to Alfred W. and E. (Peddicord) Baker. The family lived in Marion before purchasing a farm in Waldo, Ohio. Jack graduated from Waldo High School in 1947.
Jack retired in 1971 after 20 years service in the U.S. Air Force as an Electronics Technician during the Korean and Vietnam era. He retired a second time after 22 years managing an Income Tax Service for H&R Block in Mesa, Arizona. During these years he became an endowment member of the NRA and had supported the friends of NRA in Prescott through contributions of his time and of his handcrafted woodworking items.
He moved to Prescott from the Phoenix area to retire and have an easier and less hectic lifestyle!
He leaves behind his loving wife Marge, son Mark Baker (Amanda) of Tucson, AZ, daughter Cynthia Baker of Chicago, IL, step-daughter Susan Vollmer of Salem, OR, step-son James E. Jones (Cindy) of Tyler, TX, step-son Jon M. Jones (Valerie) of Escondido, CA, grandchildren; Amy, Joseph, Jessica, Emma, Holly, Jill, Katherine, Daniel, Joshua, Taylor, and Dalton, great-grandchildren; Alex, Luke, Maya, and Max.
He was truly loved by his family and a host of friends! In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Benevolence Ministry at Willow Hills Baptist Church, 1071 Mogollon Road, Prescott, AZ.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Willow Hills Baptist Church on Friday, October 9, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the Family Life Center.
