Irene R. Dunn September 30, 1930 – May 9, 2012 Irene Dunn passed away on May 9th, at her home in Prescott, Arizona; she was 81. She is survived by her children and their families, Randall Anvick and his wife Lynn and daughter Amy, and step children Mike, Jason and Terry; Mark Anvick and his wife Lesley and sons Jamieson, Shaun, Chad and daughter Paige and stepson Jerremy and stepdaughter Joy; Stepson Mike Dunn and his daughters Sarah and Stephanie. And in total there are 23 great-grandchildren She was found deceased by her neighbor and good friend Judy Novack. Autopsy pending results, she died from a heart attack in her bedroom. Irene was born in Granada Minnesota to George and Bertha Cowing. The fifth of six children, she grew up on a farm. Self-taught on the piano, she played the trombone and trumpet in high school and had a graduating class of twelve. She met Everett Anvick at a USO dance, and shortly thereafter were married. They moved to Hammond Indiana where Irene gave birth to Randy and Mark. After that, they moved to California. She Later divorced Everett, and married Clyde Dunn. They moved to Cypress, California and lived there for 21 years. They loved to travel and every year they would take two trips; one inside the USA and one abroad. After a rewarding career as an accountant for CPA firms and her own private business, she and Clyde had a retirement home built and moved to Prescott in 1987. While in Prescott, she became an active member of SCORE, helping local business attain success. She was an avid folk-dancer and very active within the Methodist church. She went on missionary work to Kenya, Africa and went to Baton Rouge to put relief packages together for flood victims. Clyde died in 2001. She continued to be a tax-preparer for her favorite clients until she turned 80. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be at AZ Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday May 17, 2012. A Celebration of Irene's Life Memorial Service will be at Prescott United Methodist Church on Friday May 18, 2012 at 10:00 AM.
