Ione Rita Smith

Ione Rita Smith, 85, died Friday, February 24, 2006 at Las Fuentes Care Center in Prescott. She was born July 25, 1920 in Port Huron, Michigan; the daughter of Charles and Helen (Remetch) Card. Ione graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Pharmacy and was licensed in several states as a Pharmacist. Ione met and married the love of her life, Eugene R. Smith on June 20, 1946 and shared 59 loving years together. Ione was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and served in the church?s Bell Ringing choir and she was a member of Martha?s Circle and a member of Prescott Racket Club. Ione enjoyed working with genealogy and loved to play the piano. Ione would spend many hours reading and working crossword puzzles. Ione is survived by her husband Eugene Richard of Prescott, her daughter and son-in-law; Carol and William John Mufich of Rocklin, California, and her son Warren E. Smith of Seward, Alaska. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law; Keith and Marilyn Card of Des Moines, Iowa and her grandson, Michael Warren Mufuch. A celebration of Ione?s life will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2006 at Trinity Presbyterian Church 630 Park Ave, Prescott. A private cremation was held at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley.
