Ida Rose Mathews

Mrs. Ida Rose Mathews went to be with her Heavenly Father on December 25, 2007 following a brief illness.  Ida graduated  highschool from Prescott, Arizona in 1941.  She married her husband Norman F. Mathews, a native of Prescott at the First Congregational Church in 1946.  She returned to Prescott in 1975 where she resided unitl the time of her death.   Mrs. Mathews enjoyed spending time with family and friends, the outdoors and gandening.  She was a long time member of the First Congregational Church where she was actively involved with the women?s fellowship.  A woman who cares deeply about others, Ida worked as a volunteer at the Yavapai Memorial Hospital for more than 25 years.  In addition, she donated her time and energy doing volunteer work for the Community Cupboard and the Veterans Hospital.   Mrs. Mathews is survived by her son, Gregory F. Mathews; her daughter, Jann L. Mauck and her husband, Bill Mauck; her grandson, Hunter Ontega Mathews and her brother, Paul Rucker.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Nina Rucker, by her husband, of 60 years, Norman F. Mathews and by brothers, Claude, Edgar, Everette and Harold Rucker.
