Hazel Lucille Hushin died April 21, 2008, in Prescott after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born December 23, 1928 in Compton, California, she was the daughter of Harry and Minnie (Koozer) West. She was 79 years old. Hazel loved gardening, spending many hours planting and tending her flowers. She lived in Camarrillo, California for 20 years before moving to Prescott with her daughter and son-in-law. She was hesitant about moving at first, but recently said that she never thought at her age she could be so happy. She truly loved the city. Hazel is survived by her daughters, Yolanda (Alex) Munoz of Prescott, Roxanne Fisher of Seattle WA, and Kim Hernandez of Santa Margarita CA; brother Henry (Virginia) West of Pahrump NV; sister Velma Miles of Bakersfield CA; grandchildren Justin, David, Sofie, Jacob and Steven; great grandchildren Austin, Isabella, and Elijah. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 24 years, Bill. Hazel was most proud of her family. She will be missed by many.
