Harry Anthony Cornell

Harry A. Cornell, born July 10, 1916 in Union City, NJ, the son of Harry and Mary (Maggio) Cornell. He died November 30, 2009 in Prescott, AZ. Harry served his country in the US Army during the second World War and was honorable discharged after receiving numerous medals and two Purple Hearts. Harry later became a Captain of Police in the city of North Bergen, New Jersey. Harry was a n avid golfer who loved the Arizona Sun. He and his wife Winifred moved to Tucson from New Jersey in the early 80?s and lived her until his passing, he had a wonderful sense of humor and was always up for a good laugh. Harry was a generous, kind and gentle person who will be missed. Harry is survived by his daughter Mary (Steve) Tirrell of Prescott, and son Jim Cornell of Toms River, NJ. Eight grandchildren; Jimmy, Joseph, Matt, Lauren, Matt, Daniel, Daniel and Michelle. Three great grandchildren, Alexandria, Anthony and Shawn. A Celebration of Harry?s Life; Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the Prescott V.A. Medical Center in Prescott with full military honors. An inurnment will follow at the Prescott National Cemetery.
