Gertrude Arlene (Carpenter) Noel, age 89, of Sun City, Arizona, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013. She was born February 16, 1924. The daughter of the late Lester and Maude Carpenter in Adams, Massachusettes. She lived in Adams until moving to Phoenix, Arizona in the 1950's. Gert worked for Motorola, Sperry Flight Systems and Honeywell in electronics/aviation in Phoenix until retirement in 1986. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Noel; brothers Ronald and Wesley Carpenter; sister Frances Cole, and son, David Noel. Gertrude is survived by her children, Virginia (Bea) Cruz, James Noel, Mary (DeYoung) Plamondon and Holly Baker; sons-in-law, Willard Plamondon and Robert Baker; grandchildren, Tiffany (Bea) Dempsey, Shawn and Alicia Noel, Gerritt and David DeYoung, Amber, Lauren and Travis Baker; great-grandchildren, Jacob Dempsey, Aydia and Jasmine DeYoung, and her beloved cat, Zeb. Gert, throughout her lifetime, had made many friends and people who loved her. She was always quick with a laugh, a hug, and would break-out in song at a moments notice. Her greatest passion and joy was her family. She never let us forget that, as her children, we were so dearly loved, and that she was proud of us. She will never be forgotten and forever missed.
