George Wilbur Hammons

George W. Hammons, 93, passed away January 15, 2011 at the Bob Stump VA Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona. He was born in Bear Creek, Mo. on April 6, 1917. He moved to Calif. at a young age where he met and married Juanita Nita Hammons in1943 and resided in Lindsay, CA until moving to Prescott Valley in October 2004.
George was a medic during WWII serving in Germany before returning to Lindsay where he was a foreman for the Betz Packing Company retiring in1983. He was a member of CASA in Prescott Valley, where he enjoyed playing Bingo and the people who gather there.
George is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita. He is survived by son Jan Collins (Barbara) of Grass Valley, CA., daughter JoAnn Carter (John) of Prescott Valley, AZ, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
