George R. Allan, X, 81, died Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Pleasant Valley Adult Care Home in Prescott. He was born September 19, 1925 in Phoenix, Arizona; the son of George and Eleanor (Cotton) Allan. After graduation, George served his country during the second world war as a pilot and was honorably discharged. George continued his education receiving an architectural degree from the University of Denver. George became an eminent Prescottonian architect. He had a great love for Prescott. George was credited with the design of the Prescott City Hall, Prescott High School, Taylor Hicks Elementary School as well as many other prominent buildings and residences. He was a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Unity Church, Smoki, and Alcoholic Anonymous. He enjoyed being with family and friends. He also enjoyed art, archeology, nature, and exploring untraveled dirt roads. He took great pleasure in creating centerpieces to deliver at Christmas. George was very proud of his children and their families, as well as his architectural contributions to Arizona. George is survived by his children and their spouses; Jane and Elias Bais of Chino Valley, George and Deborah Allan of Chino Valley. Brother and sister-in-law; Dick and Marty Allan of Prescott, and his grandchildren; Mark, Stephen, Ashley, Christopher, and Jennifer, and by great grandson; Alexander. George is also survived by a beloved friend, Grace Palmer. A celebration of George?s life will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at Unity Church on the corner of Arizona and Goodwin Streets in Prescott. A private cremation was held at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley.The family suggests contributions be made in George?s name to the Arizona Lung Association, 102 West McDowell, Phoenix, AZ 85003.
