George H. Perkins died peacefully at the VA Hospice on January 13, 2018 in Prescott, AZ at the age of 84.
George is survived by his wife Angie, his daughters Cheryl, Sandi, Kathie, Karrie and Kellie.
George was born April 17, 1933 in Chicago, IL to Ralph and Margaret Perkins. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1953 serving in Korea as Sergeant. He then attended and graduated from Washington University at St. Louis in 1961 with a Juris Doctrine degree. In 1961 George became a special agent for the FBI . He was assigned to the Atlanta and Macon, GA offices then the Chicago and Los Angeles offices. While at the Macon office he apprehended the four individuals who burned down the “I Hope Baptist Church”, in Dawson County, GA. Upon retiring from the FBI, he and Angie sailed from Los Angeles through the Panama Canal and spent six years sailing the Caribbean and Central America. They moved to Prescott in 1991 where they continued to reside.
A memorial is scheduled for 2pm on January 27, 2018 at the VA Chapel in Prescott. All are welcome to attend and celebrate George's life.
