Gene O Magdaleno

Gene O. Magdaleno died March 5, 2008 at his home in Prescott, AZ.  He was born September 6, 1934 in Yuma AZ, son of Roman and Daria (Ortez) Magdaleno.  He was 73 years old.    Gene was a member of Eagles West, and belonged to The Latino Club, both in Yuma.  He loved playing softball and was a fast-pitch pitcher for 40 years.  He came to Prescott often to play in tournaments.  He was so taken by the city that he often told his wife if he ever moved, it would be to Prescott.  They relocated here in 1995.   Gene is survived by his loving wife, Donna (Sheridan) Magdaleno; sons Jarrett (Sandra) Magdaleno of Yuma, Gene (Barbara) Magdaleno of Prescott, Michael (Melinda) Magdaleno of Yuma, and Craig (Katie) Magdaleno of Henderson NV; daughter Debra Aguilar of Prescott; grandchildren Jessica, Jarret Jr., Regina, Kevin, Jason, Mindy, Jordan, Morgan, Shania, Michael Jr., Thomas, Angelica, Austin, Macy, and Paisley; great grandchildren Jarrett 3rd, Alyson, Mika, Michael John Jr., Arianna, Dezmond, Dyamond, and Kyle; brothers John Magdaleno of Roseville GA, Ray Magdaleno of Phoenix, Alex Magdaleno of Yuma, Roman Magdaleno of Chino Valley, and Gilbert Magdaleno of Colorado Springs CO; sisters Virginia Mewvitta of Yuma, Mary Ann Proctor of Birmingham AL, Mary Helen Jaison of Thousand Oaks GA, Soccora Woef of Chicago IL, and Julie Leroy of Banning GA.  He is preceded in death by his parents Roman and Daria Magdaleno; brothers, Alfred, Frank, Carlos, and Antonio ?Tony? Magdaleno; sisters, Belen Rosalez, and Juanita Ordaz.   Gene was most proud of his large, extended family and all their many achievements.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  He will be dearly missed.   Family and friends will gather immediately following the service at the church hall.
