Gayle Woodward Dinsmore

USAF Capt. Ret. Gayle Woodward Dinsmore, 76, passed away Thursday, December 8th at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, AZ. He was born October 25th, 1940 in Lexington, KY, where he grew up and attended University of Kentucky. Gayle served his country honorably in Maintenance and Transportation with the US Air Force for 22 years, including service in Vietnam.
Gayle is survived by his two children Mark Dinsmore and Laura Dinsmore; his grandson Adam; and the rest of his family and friends. Gayle was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Marguerite Dinsmore and his brother, David Dinsmore.
Gayle was a dedicated historian, specializing in WWII medals, decorations, and weapons. He enjoyed buying, trading, and selling at swap meets and gun shows in the US, Europe and Southeast Asia.
A funeral service will be held on February 9th. 11:00 am at the Prescott National Ceremony with interment to follow immediately. Arrangements are provided by Ruffner-Wakelin Funeral Homes. Memorial donations in memory of Gayle may be made DAV – Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org) or the charity of your choice.
