On July 11th,2023 Frank [Vlarten VanApeldoorn Jr. , 57 went home to God suddenly in Prescott Arizona. Frank was born on October 22, 1965 in Cortland, New York. He grew up in Albion, New York where he graduated from Albion Central School. After school he was chosen to spend a year in a Kibbutz in lsrael. Upon returning from lsrael he attended Alfred college where he performed in many drama plays and was the lead in Charlie Brown. After college he enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed in Germany for most of the 4 years. Upon receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Air Force he returned with a service connected disability. He served during the Persian Gulf War era. After returning to the states he moved to Arizona, where he could be close to his family. ln 2005 he moved to West Plains, [t/lissouri, where he made many friends through the church. ln 2008 he decided to return to Prescott, Az. Arizona was always his first love. He spent his remaining yeais volunteering for the VA, meals on wheels, and several other community organizations. Frank loved music and loved to sing. He sang in many church choirs and was admired for his beautiful voice, both in l/lissouri and in Arizona. Frank loved to talk to people and really had a warm way of listening to what others had to say. Frank was an angel sent from God who spread his wealth of love and understanding to everyone he met. Frank is survived by his mother, Cairn and stepdad Jim Vandenbosch of Bisbee, AZ, his father, Frank VanApeldoorn Sr. of Brockport, NY, his sister tt/elody Beecher of Rochester, NY, sister Wendy and brother-in-law Tom Sydeski of Brockport, NY, sister Krista and brother-in-law Troy Lindke of Gasport, NY. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and 3 stepbrothers and stepsister. Military memorial service to be held at the Prescott National Cemetery in Prescott, AZ., and officiated by Rev. Daniel Storvick, friend of the family. lVlemorial service in New York to be determined at a later date. Updated information can be found at ruffnerwakelin.com.
