Frank M. Cvetkovich

Frank M. Cvetkovich passed away peacefully at the age of 84, after a lengthy illness at the Meadow Park Assisted Living facility in Prescott, Arizona.
Frank was born in Humboldt, Arizona, on September 4, 1926, and remained a life-long resident of Yavapai County.
He was the son of Croatian-Slovenian immigrants. Franks mother was proud to become an American citizen and was welcomed in the area by nearby folks, including Miss Sharlot Hall, who helped her practice the English language.
In the 1930s, Franks sisters, and his twice-widowed mother left Humboldt and moved to Prescott. All of the children sought employment locally. Frank worked as a mechanic for a number of garages in town before going into business for himself. He owned and operated Franks mechanical Service on South Montezuma Street for over forty years. He was very well-respected and had numerous customers who came from all areas of the United States.
In his better days he was an avid hunter, and dearly loved his black Labrador retrievers. He also enjoyed football, especially NFL games on weekends.
In the 1950s and 1960s, he was active in the Prescott Jaycees and looked forward to the annual July 4th events. He was also an active member of the Yavapai County Fair Association.
He is survived by his dear wife Martha Jean, daughters Lynn and Kim, and older half-sister Mary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to either: Sharlot Hall Museum, 415 W. Gurley St., Prescott, AZ 86301 or Prescott Firefighters Charities, 1700 Iron Springs Rd., Prescott, AZ 86305.
The family wishes to thank the Prescott firefighters for all of their assistance through the years, and the staff at Meadow Park Care Facility where he received such kind treatment at the end of Franks life.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury in Prescott.
Final farewell and commendation is private at the Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott.
