Frances Virginia Griffiths, 80, of Prescott, AZ, went to be with the Lord on January 25th, 2015. She was born September 24, 1934. Frances was preceded in death by her husband James F. Griffiths. She is survived by her daughters Debbie (Roy) Shears and Barbara (Jerry) Dallum; son James A. Griffiths; grandchildren Lorie West, Paul (Kelly) Kellerman, Amy (Kevin) Applegate, and Ruby Betterton; and great-grandchildren Jason, Domanic, Madison, Logan, Taylor, Matthew, and Chloe. A memorial service will take place at Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home in Prescott on February 19th at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Frances can be made to Sacred Heart School for the education of children. Fran was born in Wheeling, W.V., where she attended Warwood High School. She played the saxophone in the school's marching band, and was also a majorette in the front lines with her twirling baton. She graduated high school in 1952, and started to work for the telephone company. In 1953, Fran married the love of her life, Jim, and they moved to Burbank, CA the following year, in 1954. In 1959, they moved with their two small children (Debbie and Barbara) to Sylmar, CA. One year later they had their 3rd child, James Allen. Fran went back to work for the telephone company after her children were older as a supervisor and retired in 1993 after 24 years. In 1998, Fran and Jim moved to Prescott, AZ, where they enjoyed living for the last 16 years of their lives. During this time, Fran was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Prescott. Fran lost her beloved Jim on March 18, 2014. They were married 60 years. Fran enjoyed her family, reading, traveling and singing in the church choir. She will be missed dearly.
