Everett O. Cox

Everett O’Donald Cox died Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Northern V.A. Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona. He was born July 9, 1948 in Glendale, Arizona; the son of Everett A. and Betty Jean (Finley0 Cox. Everett was 64 years old. Those who knew Everett call him Junior. He grew up in Phoenix going to Wilson Grade School, Isaac Grade School and Carl Hayden High School. Junior ran track and played baseball. He loved playing baseball and going fishing whenever possible. Junior was a very handsome young man. He had beautiful handwriting and loved to write poems about friends and family. He also had a sweet tooth, if he or someone bought something sweet, he would eat the whole thing and say that’s what was on his diet. Junior was fun to be around and was always joking and making you laugh. If he had money in his pocket, he had to spend it, he was not a saver. His favorite saying was, “Can I borrow $20 bucks and I will pay you back when my hunchback brother straightens up”. If he wanted to do something, he wanted to do it right then and couldn’t wait for anything. Junior was very proud of his military service in the U.S. Marine Corps. He spent most of his life traveling around the country side as a Long Hauler. To those who knew and loved him, he was truly The Man, The Myth, and The Legend. He is survived by his three children; Ronda (David) Ayers, Donnie (Judy) Cox, Dallas Cox, grandchildren; Jillann (Seth) Madren, Angela Ayers, Ashley (Dustin) Perrone, great-grandchildren; Abigale Perrone, Preston Perrone and one on the way, his sister Susie McQuade. Junior is preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Betty Jean Cox, brother Paul Cox, and grandparents, Buck and Lela Cox.
