Evelyn Lucille Larriba

Evelyn Lucille Larriba, 75, passed away July 17, 2012 in Prescott, Arizona. She was born June 20, 1937 to Russell C. Hogue and Joyce M. Myer in New Castle, PA. She is survived by her daughters Janine L. Reader of Mesa, AZ and Kathleen S. Izzi of Prescott, AZ; sons Joaquin R. Larriba of Chino Valley, AZ and Brian L. Pearson of Clarkdale, AZ; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She was retired from the VA Medical Center in Prescott, AZ. Evelyn was an upstanding citizen in the Prescott community. She was dedicated to her family and to helping others – always putting someone else’s needs before her own. Those that knew Evelyn will forever remember her uncanny wit and dry sense of humor, even up until the very end. She loved to go fishing and did so as often as she could with her busy schedule of work and family. She was on the Blue Monday bowling league with her very best, lifetime friends and they traveled to many state and national tournaments together. Evelyn was an avid Diamondback fan; oh how she loved watching her boys! Country music and dancing always made her happy. A weekend in Laughlin was something that she also shared with friends, especially when there was an Engelbert Humperdinck concert. Whether you knew her as Mom, Mommy, Mumsy, Mother, Grandma, Evelyn, Evie, Lucy, Aunt Evelyn … you all have special moments and fond memories of her. We all loved her and she will be missed dearly. Her work here is now finished; her strength, love, kindness and talents are now needed elsewhere. We unselfishly say goodbye, knowing we all will see you again. Dance with the Angels Evelyn. A special thank you from the family to the staff & volunteers at Hospice Family Care Inc. and to Dr. Hojat Askari with Thumb Butte Medical Center for helping make Evelyn’s last days as comfortable as possible. A private cremation was entrusted to Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home.
