Evelyn Brown, 96, of Prescott, Arizona, died on March 30, 2016. Born to Harry and Elizabeth Blair, Evelyn grew up on a ranch in the Black Hills of South Dakota. She often spoke of growing up in the Black Hills surrounded by an extended family of grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins. She will be buried in the Black Hills National Cemetery alongside her husband, William Brown.

Evelyn lived in Prescott for 62 years. During that time, she raised her three children, played many hands of bridge, hiked a number of interesting trails and traveled to many countries. Evelyn was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Order of Eastern Star, White Shrine and the Prescott Outings Club in her active years. She was also a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church.

Survivors include two sons, Roy (Sonja) of Redondo Beach, California and Francis (Pom) of Phoenix, Arizona; and one daughter, Barbara Wing of Prescott, Arizona. She is also survived by grandchildren, Bridget Norambuena, David Konsbruck, Daniel Brown, Bryan Brown and Tyrus Brown; eight great grandchildren survive including Nicholas, Matthew, Caleigh, Alex, Ethan, Caitlynn, Lia and Nathan. Evelyn is also survived by her brother, George Blair of Sturgis, South Dakota; and her sister, Mary (Don) Tech of Rapid City, South Dakota; and many nieces and nephews.
The family wants to thank the special team who have supported Evelyn in this final stage of her journey including Granite Mountain Hospice (Dr. Doyle, Kim, Cindy, Leah, Susan, Karen, Kermit, Lark and many more), Las Fuentes Assisted Living Staff (Tina, Susan, Valerie, Maria, Patrick, Nancy, Pam, Dawn and many more) and special caregivers Michelle, Diana, Brenda, Judi and April.
