Eugene (Nick) Nicoletti, of Prescott Arizona, passed away at his home on December 6th, 2015 with his four children by his side. He was 78 years old.
He was born in Davenport, Iowa in 1937 and moved to California with his father and mother, Mario Anthony Nicoletti, and Leta Marie Nicoletti at the age of 3. He graduated from Serra High School, attended El Camino College and graduated from California State University Los Angeles with a BS in Sociology and Criminal Justice. He graduated from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Academy, Class of 1970. He served honorably as a Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff for 26 years, out of Lakewood, Bellflower, and Lomita before retiring in 1996. It’s been said, that he approached his job with a great sense of humor, and “the tenacity of a bulldog.” He believed in Justice and fairness, but also 2nd chances. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved to hunt and fish and go camping with his kids.
He is survived by his four children, Ralph Nicoletti, Allan Nicoletti, Peggy Brucker, and Laura Nicoletti, and three grandchildren, Bek Brucker, and Andy and Alexandra Nicoletti. He was preceded in death by his first grandchild, Nicole Brucker, who died of cancer when she was 17. He also leaves behind his brother, Joseph Nicoletti and his wife Diane, of Portland Oregon, along with their children William Greenberg and Mark Nicoletti. He will be greatly missed.
Memorial services and a celebration of his life will be held in Redondo Beach, California at a date to be announced.
