Ernest Lopez

Our loving father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle & friend, Ernest Lopez, went Home to be with the Lord Thursday morning, July 7, 2022. He will be missed beyond measure.

Ernie had a long and successful career in both the U.S. Army and Civilian Service. He enlisted in June 1953 and had tours in Okinawa and the US and was Honorably Discharged in August 1963. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in Saigon in May 1966 while working with the Air Force as a civilian. After serving 13 years with the Air Force in Germany he retired in May 1990 after 33 years of combined service.

Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, Ernie Sr. & Mae Lopez, his sisters, Roberta Board & Linda Rodman and grandson Zachary Scott. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Barbara, son Ernest, daughters Lorinda, Jeanette, Laurencia and many grand children & great grandchildren.

In his leisure time Ernie loved to cook, play golf, travel & spend time with family & friends. He loved to dance and was an accomplished Square & Round Dancer.

He was a bundle of love, joy and laughter where ever he went!
