Elvera Hines passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013, at the age of 96. She was the last of the Frank Girls, born in Lignite, North Dakota, 7 miles from the Canadian border, along with her sisters, Lucyle and Leona, and her brother, Neree, to her parents, Anton (Tony) and Catherine Frank. Though she began her life in Lignite, she grew up in St. Cloud, Minnesota. She married Leonard Hines in 1940, who preceded her in death at age 95 in 2004, after a 63 year marriage. Most of her life was spent in Santa Ana and Escondido, California, raising her 4 children, and retiring to play golf, before moving to Prescott, Arizona, in 2007, where she resided at Las Fuentes Resorts. Elvera (NOT ELVIRA!) will return to the Mission San Luis Reye in Oceanside, California, where she will be inurned alongside Leonard, and not far from her sisters, who preceded her in death in San Diego.
