Elizabeth Ida Wamsley  was a 20-year resident of Prescott, Arizona and prior to that a 27-year resident of Bixby, Oklahoma. She passed away of natural causes on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Prescott Village. She was born March 31, 1917 in Jackson, Illinois; the daughter of Oliver & Bessie (Riley) Gillespie. She was 91 years old. She is survived by her loving family; Cody Wamsely of Prescott, Arizona; step-daughter Ann McDaniel of Madison, North Carolina, and her husband Bob McDaniel, their children Robert grandchildren Andrew, Sarah, Elizabeth, and Shelby; sister Blanch Boyd of Surprise, Arizona and her daughter Ann; sister-in-law Gladys Gillespie of Bisbee, Arizona and her two daughters Dianne & Debbie. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Burkett Wamsley, a former Oklahoma, County Commissioner, and they lived in Bixby from 1948 to 1975, where they farmed and raised beef cattle. In 1975 the family moved to Prescott where they entered the radio broadcasting business. Elizabeth grew up in Effingham, Illinois and graduated from high school there. She loved her life, was devoted to her family, and enjoyed watching college football and Phoenix Suns basketball games. She will be greatly missed until we all meet again.
