Eleanor Louise Button

Eleanor passed from this earth to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 23, 2014. She was born in Roseville, IL on March 28, 1929 to Jessie and Louis Rodgers. She was the 5th of 6 children and had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home with lots of love. She is preceded in death by 4 of her 6 brothers and sisters and her parents and one nephew. She grew up in Roseville and attended grade school and high school there graduating in 1947. She attended Lincoln Bible Institute in Lincoln, IL for 2 years majoring as a medical missionary. Next, she attended Deaconess Hospital Evangelical DH in St. Louis, MO graduating in 1953. She passed her IL State Boards and had a nursing career totally in IL for 40 years. She worked at Galesburg State Research Hospital beginning in 1956 in the Mental Health field. She also worked at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, IL and Abraham Lincoln Hospital Memorial. Her entire life was devoted to serving others. In 1963, she married Edward Button of Galesburg who preceded her in death. They had no children but she was mother like to all of her nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. She always welcomed them into her life and home. She absolutely loved babies and got so much joy from them. She moved to Prescott Valley Arizona in the fall of 1994 where she remained for the next 20 years. Her hobbies were collecting antiques and she especially loved butterflies, clowns and angels. She was a member of the Prescott Valley Christian Church. She read her Bible everyday as she prayed for her loved ones and friends and was truly the best Prayer Warrior anyone could ask for. She was a good daughter, sister, aunt, wife and a friend to so many. She always made you feel so special no matter what the circumstance. She was the best listener, always eager to hear about your life rather than dwell on her own. She will be missed by those of us who had the privilege to know and love her. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law as well as 11 nieces and nephews.
