Edward R. (Ned) Williams

Edward R. (Ned) Williams (95), born November 16, 1917 in Wallingford, Connecticut, Son of Robert C. and Marion R. Williams, died August 26, 2013 in Prescott. Edward attended Wallingford schools and was a graduate of Syracuse University with a B.A. degree. A veteran of WWII, he served 3 ½ years in the Army Air Corps. He was married to the late Nora Daly for 35 years. He is survived by his sister Marcia Barkelew of Carmel, CA and brother Robert C. Williams Jr, of Prescott Valley and many nieces and nephews. Edward was employed as an office manager with the United States Gypsum Company. Following his retirement in 1980 he pursued his hobbies of gardening, Oil Painting and furniture refinishing. He wrote light verse and published a book of his poetry. He moved to Prescott in 1995 and was active in the United Methodist Church and the Prescott Noon Lions Club. Edward was a volunteer at the Sharlot Hall Museum.
