Edward Charles Shryock

Edward Charles Shryock passed away at his home in Prescott on May 7, 2013, at the age of 90. Born in Meadville, Pennsylvania, Ed joined the US Marine Corps at the start of World War II, where he met fellow Marine Jennie Southford. They married in 1944 and moved to Prescott in 1961. He was a long-time member of the Mountain Artists Guild and shared his love of woodcarving at Sharlot Hall Museum's annual Folk Art Fair. Ed is survived by his sons Gregory Shryock of Prescott, AZ and Steven Shryock of New York City, NY, daughters Barbara Clark of Tempe, AZ, Katherine Hood of Indiana, PA and Rita Shryock of Chino Valley, AZ, eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. His daughter Jane Halverson and his wife Jennie preceded him in death.
