Douglas Ernest Rutherford

Douglas Ernest Rutherford, born November 27, 1950, passed away in his sleep at his home in Spring Valley, AZ on June 2, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father Hal and his sister Sheila. He is survived by his mother Elizabeth Rae Painter of Spring Valley; his brothers Jay Rutherford of Wrightwood, CA, Mac Rutherford of Queen Creek, AZ, and Dwight Painter of Poland Junction, AZ. He is survived by his son John Henry Rutherford, his daughter Jessica Rochelle Rutherford, grandchildren Josh, Jayson, and Jase; and his great-grandchild Angel. He is also survived by Lynn Stout, his girlfriend for many years. Prior to living in Spring Valley, Doug lived in Phoenix, working in his own buggy shop for about ten years before moving to California, working as a telemarketer in the communications field. Having moved to Prescott Valley later, he worked with and became proficient in model aircrafts as a hobby, helping the Boy Scouts earn money for their programs. Doug was Manager of the Bradshaw Mountain View Water Company for 13 years. In that time he oversaw the operation of the company as a utility, including making all decisions necessary to maintain and operate the company. He also owned and operated a shop for welding in Mayer, AZ, specializing in the manufacture of bikes and buggies, and specialized welding for Solar Panels under the name of Solar Up. Doug was known and admired by the people in Spring Valley and Humboldt as a person who would help anyone without asking questions, making sure that all patrons of the water company came first.
