Dorothy Mae Van Dusen (Hewitt)
"Dot" "Dottie" peacefully gained her angel wings, February 15, 2025, surrounded by family. She was reunited with the love of her life her loving husband, Don. Welcomed by her Lord Jesus.
Dot was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA with her two brothers, Richie and Warren by their parents, Emma and Warren Grinnell. Dot met Don while in grade school. They married in 1951, and soon welcomed two sons and two daughters. Lovingly raising them with pride and honor in a Christ centered home in Anaheim. Dot hosted neighborhood kids in our home to attend King's Kids Christian club. Dot and Don moved to Prescott Valley in 1977. She was a homemaker, Sunday school teacher, and worked as a teacher's aide before returning to CA for a few years. She proudly worked for TBN for 10 years before returning to AZ. They remained here until their passing. Dottie was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother, Richie, sister-in-love, Jeanne, and two great grandchildren. Dot is survived by four children, Bob (Kathy), Don (Elisabeth), Terri (Art) and Elaine (John). Her brother, Warren. Twelve grandchildren, 21 great grandkids and 4 great great grandkids, #5 due in March, 2025. And many family members and friends that will love and miss her as much as we do. Dot always said, "Thank you and God bless you" to everyone she met. Our family would like to thank YRMC both campuses, Maggie's Hospice, Prescott Valley Assisted Care, Chaplin Eric, and our nursing friends for giving Mom such loving and respectful care. And to Anita and staff at Ruffner-Wakelin for helping us with her final wishes.A celebration of life is being planned for August 16.
