Donald Locke Johnston

Don died Monday, October 22, 2007 at the Margaret T. Morris Center in Prescott, Arizona.  He was born October 19, 1932 in Norwood, Mass.; the son of Robert and Dorothy (Fraser) Johnston.  Don was 75 years old. Don served his country in the United States Army and after his tour of duty, went to college.  He went to all three universities here in Arizona; ASU, U of A, and NAU.  Don was a teacher, counselor, and principal during his years in education.  Don married Audrie Malchert on August 9, 1982.  Both Don and Audrie loved to travel and visited such places as New Zealand, Austria, British Isles, and Switzerland five times.  He loved hiking, especically Western United States and Canada, and enjoyed the wild flowers that he would see during his hikes. Don is survived by his wife, Audrie of 25 years.  Children; Robin (Robert) Brown of Peoria, AZ., and Ivan (Alice) Johnston of Winnemucca,  NV., Robert (Olga) Eppstein of Tucson, AZ., Laurel (Pete) Montano of Cortez, CO., Richard (Pamela) Eppstein of Longmont, CO.  Grandchildren; Matthew, Meghann, Jessica, Garrett, Nick, Aaron, Theresa, Kharis, Chelsey, and Shayna.  Great-greatchildren Andrew and Gabriel. Don is also survived by two sisters; Daryl Babcock of Phoenix, AZ., and Eleanor (Robert) Hamilton of Warrenton, OR.
